Understanding the Role of a BREEAM-NL In-Use Assessor: Quick & Simple

Considering BREEAM-NL In-Use certification for your property? Great choice! But first, let’s clarify one key role: the BREEAM-NL In-Use Assessor.

What does an Assessor do?

  1. Site Visit: We visit your building specifically to conduct a thorough site inspection and take pictures required for our Assessor Site Inspection Report.
  2. Assessor Site Inspection Report: Based on our site visit, we create a detailed report that confirms the accuracy of evidence provided by the BREEAM expert in the assessment tool.
  3. Validation of Documentation: We review and validate documents uploaded by your BREEAM expert in the assessment tool. We do not gather or collect this evidence ourselves; our role is strictly to verify its compliance with BREEAM-NL standards.
  4. Submission for Quality Control: After validation, we submit the completed assessment to the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) for quality control.

Important Note: The Assessor is not responsible for achieving a specific certification level—that responsibility rests entirely with you, the client, or a certified BREEAM expert consultant.

Certification Process: Once the assessment passes DGBC quality control, the Assessor receives the certification and delivers it directly to you, the client.
